Cardi B, hailing from the Bronx, has made a name for herself in the music industry with her remarkable skills. While she initially gained popularity through reality TV and her chart-topping single “Money Moves,” there’s a lot more to her than what we see on the surface. To give you the latest scoop on this talented artist, we dug up an old interview with Cardi B.
According to a 2016 interview with Global Grind, Cardi B had a typical childhood with hardworking parents who held regular jobs and were decent individuals. The tough environment she was raised in presented its own set of difficulties.
She took a chance on college, but unfortunately, it didn’t pan out. At the young age of eighteen, she was kicked out and had to rely on her first-ever boyfriend for a place to stay. Though she tried again with college later on, balancing coursework and her job at the supermarket proved to be too much. In the end, she had to turn to stripping in order to pay the bills.
In the past, the lady has gone through domestic violence and identifies herself as a survivor. Her previous partner was a thief and physically violent towards her, as she suggests. She indicates that often women may want to move in with their boyfriends, but things can escalate quickly when finances are involved and abuse starts. She also shared that there were times when she couldn’t feed herself due to her ex-partner’s behavior.
In our chat, Cardi B shared with me about her early days as a stripper. She confessed to feeling frightened and humiliated when she took to the stage for the first time. The idea of disappointing her parents and exposing her entire body made her feel overwhelmed. This occurrence caused her to carry a sense of embarrassment around with her for quite some time.
She felt like she was in the spotlight for a few months, and couldn’t help but feel like she didn’t belong. Despite this, the lure of the money was too tempting to ignore. “I mean, who can say no to that kind of cash,” she chuckled.
At number 5, we discovered that she has superb culinary abilities and decided to inquire about it. She confided in us, saying, “I am capable of cooking, but I don’t find the process enjoyable. But I absolutely adore the final product!” This information was disclosed to us last year.
