Tangerine, a calico cat, was less than a year old and required assistance. According to Alley Cat Rescue, the mother cat had two litters of four kittens at different ages, all of whom were nursing. Since the young mother was stretched thin, the volunteers began supplementing the older kittens’ diets so that Tangerine could focus on feeding her four ten-day-old babies.
According to Alley Cat Rescue, the kittens were doing well for a few weeks until their mom ran out of milk. However, as they had been providing meals and support, it was easy for them to step in and help out. The kittens were being fed around the clock through bottle-feeding, and their mom Tangerine maintained their hygiene impeccably. She was extremely grateful for the assistance she received and even spent more time with her caregivers, enjoying the love and affection.
As soon as the caretakers entered the room, Tangerine joyfully welcomed them and purred with delight. According to Alley Cat Rescue, she was incredibly affectionate and craved attention. One of the younger kittens was already chowing down on the mother’s food at an impressive three weeks old, whereas some of the other kittens were still struggling to get on their feet. This particular kitten had already mastered the art of feeding.
I find it so captivating to observe how clever kittens can be. They easily catch on to using the litter box, grooming themselves, playing with toys, and seeking warmth through cuddles. Cornbread, despite being the smallest in his litter, required additional care to aid in his growth. We kept a close eye on their weights and noticed that poor Cornbread had plateaued.
Despite his small stature, Little Cornbread had an indomitable spirit and a fierce determination to keep up with his larger siblings. After each feeding, Momma Tangerine would encourage him and gently wipe away the milk from his tiny mouth. He never let his size hold him back and could even hold his own when wrestling with his bigger brothers and sisters.
This cute little ginger kitty is growing beautifully and making great progress. He has a sweet personality and loves to eat. Whenever his caretakers show up with his meals, he gives them the warmest welcome. While his siblings have started eating solid food, Cornbread still prefers his daily bottles. It’s hard to resist those big blue eyes of his!
Mama Tangerine, the adorable citrus fruit, has finally decided to retire from her duties as a mother and has entrusted her babies’ caretakers to take care of them. She has been yearning to have her own space and be the center of attention for quite some time now. Finally, her dream has come true this week as she was adopted and moved into her new home.
The kitten is overjoyed to be back in her playful, loving state and is enjoying all the attention and affection from her forever family. According to Alley Cat Rescue, she now has a new sibling to love and cherish and is finally living her happily ever after.
