In an interview with the New York Daily News, Selena, who was previously in a long-term relationship with Justin Bieber, opened up about how challenging it is to deal with the constant rumors and gossip about her personal life.
“It really does affect me,” she confided. “I’m only human and it’s tough dealing with all the gossip and rumors that circulate about you. Most of the time, it’s all nonsense and not even true.”
“In reality, I just hop in my car, go to the store, and grab some groceries. But in the media world, it becomes this big production like I’m off on some top-secret mission. It all gets so distorted, which is why I surround myself with good, trustworthy people. I’m very selective about who I let in,” she acknowledged.
“The most challenging part is finding someone who truly loves me for who I am at my core, not for any other reasons,” she added.
