CAREY: Can you walk us through a typical day in the life of Cardi B?

CARDI B: Amid the ongoing pandemic, my day-to-day routine usually involves me waking up with numerous ideas racing through my mind. I waste no time in contacting my team to turn these ideas into reality. Additionally, I’m always considering new business ventures and frequently speak with my lawyer to discuss the legalities surrounding them. As for leisure time, I occasionally browse social media platforms like Twitter and blogs to stay updated on current events, but I try to limit my usage since the negative energy can be overwhelming.

Typically, I wake up at noon, and given that my daughter rises at 3:00 p.m., I don’t have an extensive period to focus only on work-related matters.

CAREY: What would you say is your most relatable quality?

CARDI B:
I have a natural ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Whether it’s someone from the streets or someone who’s pursuing higher education, I can understand and get along with anyone.

CAREY: Let’s talk about your latest album. How are you feeling about it?

CARDI B:
To be honest, I feel like I’m missing a few tracks. Everyone’s pressuring me to release it, but I don’t want to put it out if the timing isn’t right. I prefer doing in-person interviews because I like being up close and personal with people. Zoom calls just feel so awkward. I’d rather do listening parties instead. Plus, with touring off the table, it’s really frustrating.

CAREY: Don’t rush yourself. Take your time to make sure it’s the best it can be. Everyone wants that for you. By the way, is there a track similar to “Be Careful”? That’s one of my favorites.

During an interview, Cardi B was asked about her song “Be Careful” and she revealed that the song was more personal and difficult for her to write. She explained that people had been telling her to talk more about herself and be softer in her music, but it was challenging for her to express herself in love songs as she had never done it before. When asked about her fears regarding her new album, she shared that people always have high expectations, especially for female rappers, and that she hates the feeling of failing. She expressed her desire for her album to do well, as her previous one did, to avoid feeling sad. Carey, who was also present during the interview, shared her experience of having a successful first album followed by a less successful second one but encouraged Cardi B to keep going and doing different things, reminding her that people love her and her music will be what it is.

of here, this is not going to happen.” But I really worked hard for it and it happened. So, yeah, I’m definitely happy with my life decisions.

During a conversation with Carey, Cardi B was asked about her family’s reaction towards her music and her hit song “WAP”. She shared that she is now a grown-up and her mother doesn’t get bothered by her music anymore. When Cardi B told her mother that she was a stripper, it bothered her for some time. However, her mother understands that she is now an adult and can make her own decisions. Cardi B also mentioned that the kids around her neighborhood grew up fast and that her mother didn’t want her to follow in their footsteps. Carey shared that she can understand the situation as she has also been surrounded by a lot of crazy things in her life. Cardi B expressed that she is happy with the life decisions she has made and encourages her fans to work hard to achieve their dreams, just like she did.
