Cardi B Slays in a Daring Scarlet Gown as She Takes Home the Best Hip Hop Video Prize

The music event was a huge success and several musicians were recognized for their talent. Taylor Swift was awarded two prizes while Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish received three awards each. The event was star-studded and full of excitement.

Cardi B, the popular rapper, expressed her happiness after receiving the first moon man award of the night from Rick Ross and Pepa for her hit track “Money”. The 26-year-old rapper won over other talented musicians such as Travis Scott, 21 Savage, 2 Chainz, and DJ Khaled.

Cardi B was in a jubilant mood as she rejoiced her victory for the Best Hip Hop Video award during the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards held at The Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Monday night.

Filled with joy, Cardi expressed her gratitude to the audience: ‘Just a moment, please. This award is for a music video, and I would like to thank my team for their hard work, as well as the director and everyone involved. They had to endure my endless chatter and various bodily functions. Additionally, I want to extend my appreciation to my dance team. Thank you all so much. I am truly grateful.’

Drawing everyone’s attention towards her, the lady from New York showcased her enviable curves by donning a strikingly red woven outfit. The attire was designed with a choker-like turtleneck, a dipped hemline and a deep neckline that emphasized her generously endowed bust.

Suave Professionals’ celebrity stylist Tokyo Stylez transformed the hair of the ex-LHHNY celebrity to a sleek bob, letting the rest of Cardi’s daring appearance steal the show. The stylist went for a less intricate hairstyle to give more emphasis to her overall look.

During her acceptance speech, she expressed gratitude towards her crew and also extended her appreciation to the director, Jora Frantzis, for her incredible work on the music video.

The ex-Love and Hip Hop New York celebrity received the initial award of the evening, known as the moon man, from famous rapper Rick Ross and Pepa, who are both considered hip hop icons.

According to him, Cardi is famous for her daring fashion choices, but they opted for a more understated approach for the evening. They collectively decided that a short and glossy hairstyle would complement the overall busy appearance. Apparently, Cardi enjoys moments of simplicity too!

The beauty expert aimed for a natural appearance, starting by preparing the hair with Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Shampoo and Conditioner. To maintain a sleek and smooth look all night long, she applied the Sleek Anti-Frizz Smooth Shine Cream to prevent frizz from ruining the style.

To complete the look, the hair was sprayed with Firm Control Finishing Hairspray, ensuring that any stray hairs were tamed and smoothed down.

Cardi’s makeup was done by Erika La Pearl from Pat McGrath Labs, who used the brand’s latest products – Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Primer, Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Foundation, and Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Powder. These were used to enhance her skin’s texture and give it a flawless finish.

Erika enhanced the skin’s radiance by using the Skin Fetish: Highlighter + Balm Duo. Then, to create a red-toned look for the eyes, she applied shades from both the Mothership V: Bronze Seduction Palette and the recently launched Mothership VI: Midnight Sun Palette. The finishing touch was a chic nude lip, made by combining two shades of the Mattetrance Lipstick and topping it off with a coat of the Lust: Gloss. And there you have it!
